One of the things that has always resonated with me comes from Marsha Linehan, the founder of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), who said that she was determined to get herself out of hell—and then go back to help others find their way out. That sentiment captures why I became a therapist and why I continue to do this work every day.

I've always been deeply curious about people and their stories. After taking my first psychology course in high school, I knew I had found my calling. My passion for helping others also runs in my family—my grandfather was a social worker, and his dedication to serving others inspired my own path.

I graduated from Miami University in 2008 and earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Cincinnati in 2013. I began my career in community mental health, working with adults experiencing serious mental illness. During my graduate field placement, I was introduced to Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and I was immediately captivated by its balance of acceptance, compassion, and meaningful change.

As my career evolved through foster care and school-based day treatment, DBT remained at the center of my work. No matter the setting or population, I found myself returning to its principles because I witnessed the hope and transformation it could offer. That passion ultimately led me to The Cincinnati Center for DBT, where I have the privilege of practicing DBT full-time.

In therapy, I strive to create a space where clients feel genuinely understood while also being challenged to grow. I bring enthusiasm, authenticity, and humor into our work together because I believe healing doesn't have to happen in a room filled only with seriousness. Some of life's hardest moments deserve compassion, and sometimes they also deserve a little laughter.

Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or like you're living in your own version of hell, you don't have to find your way through it alone. My goal is to meet you where you are, help you build the skills to navigate life's challenges, and walk alongside you as you create a life that feels meaningful, fulfilling, and truly worth living.
