Hi, I’m Emma! I approach this work with an appreciation for the beautiful messiness it is to be human. We are fallible, imperfect, and full of contradictions. We are also capable of profound joy, compassion, and connection. As a result, I believe therapy is a collaborative process built on a real relationship between equals - one rooted in mutual respect, trust, and shared responsibility.  I see you as the expert of you own life, and my role is to work alongside you to navigate challenges and build a life worth living, whatever that looks like for you.

I was introduced to DBT during my time as a postbaccalaureate clinical fellow at McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School. While there, I learned from incredible DBT experts who significantly shaped my approach to therapy. I was drawn to DBT’s unique balance of acceptance and change, and I enjoy helping clients adapt these skills in ways that feel authentic and useful in their everyday lives. I am committed to providing adherent, evidence-based care while also recognizing the limitations of research, particularly for marginalized communities. As a result, I strongly believe in flexibility within fidelity, which means staying true to the model while also tailoring treatment to fit your unique needs and experiences. I aim to create a supportive space that is grounded in validation, curiosity and respect. I am deeply committed to gender-affirming care, anti-racism, and racial justice in my professional and personal life.

I’m a therapist in training working toward my doctorate in clinical psychology at Xavier University. I have worked with (and enjoy working with!) teens, young adults, adults, and parents/caregivers who experience difficulties with emotion regulation (e.g., depression, anxiety, borderline personality disorder), suicidal ideation, self-injury, interpersonal conflict, and identity-related concerns. Outside of private practice, I have experience working in school, residential, and inpatient settings.
